These are five examples of videos I found on YouTube of potential adverts for archival footage I am considering to use in my documentary.
I want to use this song in my documentary at some point, it is the soundtrack to the first of the videos above, the song is called Superchick - Courage. I feel that the songs lyrics are very powerful and it seems that it was definitely written about anorexia.
an excellent choice of soundtrack - it is appropriate and age specific as well as having the right kind of tome/style - well researched.
ReplyDeleteas regards copyright; can you email the band/producers and ask permission to use the track, provide evidence on ur blog that you are aware of the copyright issues and how it effects your work so without permission;
don't use the whole track
consider interviewing 'actors' about the song so that it is justifiable to place it in the film/doc
give the band credit on your production
ensure that you also have other copyright free music tracks in the doc
also the archive footage is good - especially the second one down - but also consider that you could gain ideas from them and actually film similar shot types/footage with your own acotrs - that way you are evidencing influences and learning processes plus ensuring consistency of lighting and resolution throughout your piece,
